"Layla & Majnun" is the tale of Qays, a handsome, carefree 21 year
old libertine whose life is turned upside down when he meets the love of
his life Layla, and between them they share a mystical bond which
ultimately seals their fate. When he is forced into exile away from
Layla,he goes mad with melancholic grief and becomes known by all who see him or hear his poems and songs of love, as Majnun – the madman. On hearing of Layla’s betrothal to Nahash, son of the local sultan, he returns to the city where he is reunited with his love again. Jealous with rage Nahash murders Majnun, thereby sealing Layla’s fate but in doing so, liberating the lovers to be together for ever more.
